Now more than ever before, organisations and individuals need to be able to communicate to stay on top of their business, wherever staff happen to be. Every lost call could be costing valuable time and money. DECT allows seamless communications
DECT gives customers the ability to answer calls from anywhere in the building when away from there desk. A DECT System consists of base stations that are placed around the building, the positioning and amount of base stations are determined by a site survey. The range of a base station varies from 50 meters indoors and up to 600 meters outdoors. For calls to have good reception throughout the building each base station must be able to hand the call over to another base station, this means that a base stations signal strength must overlap with another's as shown opposite.

Many of the DECT Systems are DECT and GAP Compatible this means that any cordless phones that are DECT and GAP Compatible as well, can be used on that system. Below are some of the different types of DECT Systems that are available on the INDeX, IP Office and Network Alchemy telephone systems. The DECT Systems that connect to analogue extensions are designed to work with most telephone systems.
The Compact DECT is a cordless telephone system designed to work with most PABX switch systems and is DECT and GAP Compatible.

It has a capacity for up to 8 handsets and a maximum of 6 simultaneous calls, the main base station connects to analogue extensions on the PABX. With only one base station signal range is limited but can be extended with the use of up to 3 repeater base stations.
The DECT DCU system connects to analogue extensions which makes it compatible with any telephone system. This dect system is DECT and GAP Compatible and can expand up to 32 base stations and 128 dect handsets. Each base station can support up to 4 simultaneous calls signal range is between 50 - 600 meters which can be extended with repeaters. If you are connecting this DECT system to the INDeX PABX and using DH or 20DT handsets you will have access to additional functions including CLI/Alpha Tagging, ability to search the INDeX Directory and mobile twinning which allows your desk phone and dect phone to work as the same extension.
Cordless Subscriber Line Cassette is for use with the INDeX telephone system. This DECT system uses one spare slot on the INDeX and does not require any available analogue extensions. There are two versions of the cassette, the CSLC 8 supports up to 8 base stations and 64 DECT Handsets, the CSLC 16 supports up to 16 base stations and 128 Handsets. Each base station can handle 4 simultaneous calls, but only a maximum of 32 calls on the CSLC at any one time. Repeater base stations can be used and the CSLC is DECT and GAP Compatible. When using the 20DT Handsets features include CLI/Alpha Tagging, ability to search the INDeX Directory, mobile twinning, hot desking and Multi site roaming.
A cordless phone for INDeX based on DECT technology - allows mobile on-site users to remain in contact, with a high level of feature integration. Multi site log-on capabilities allow you to be in touch at which ever networked site you are visiting, using seamless state of the arc technology.
