The KXTD range is currently Panasonics best selling telephone system and Panasonic sell more business telephone systems in the UK than any other manufacturer. This fact is not just down to people opting to buy a system with a leading brand name, its because Panasonic systems are packed with features, extremely reliable and above all great value for money.

The KXTD is currently available as 3 different platforms, each catering for a specific size of company and offering a wide range of features and flexibility through its highly customisable programming

Platform 1:

KXTD612E Digital Super Hybrid System - Up to 12 Extensions

Although the smallest version of the KXTD, the 612 platform is still a powerful and extremely versatile option for companies with up to 12 members of staff. Fully configured, the 612 can have 3 ISDN2 circuits connected to it to provide 6 channel for outgoing and incoming service.

ISDN allows the option of renting DDI ranges (direct dial inward) from your chosen network providers which means each extension can have its own private number to advertise. DDI numbers can also be directed at groups of extensions which allows you to have several phones ringing when a call comes in for your main company number.

The 612 has a very useful optional extra in the form of a voice message card. This card provides basic voice mail functionality for all system users as well as out of hours mail boxes for the companies main numbers. Good integration with the KXTD display handsets means that received messages are very visual and the methods of retrieval are extremely user friendly.

Up to 3 door phone units with door opener relays are available on the system if required. This means that visitors to your building can press a button on a door phone box and generate a call on selected telephones on the 612 system. By pressing a number on the phone keypad, you can then chose to open the door from your desk.

An external music on hold source (i.e. CD player) can be connected to the 612 to provide music to your customers while they're call is on hold plus an amplifier and speakers can be attached to the system if there is a requirement for paging announcements, into an area of your company such as a waiting room or a stores type environment.

Platform 2

KXTD816E Digital Super Hybrid System - Up to 32 Extensions

Being the mid range platform, the KXTD 816E gives you the ability to gradually expand on the system's initial configuration, so that it cost effectively co-inside with the growth of your company.

While still providing the capability of accepting the same ISDN and DDI functionality via ISDN2 as its smaller brother, the KXTD816 also allows for primary rate connection (ISDN30) with a maximum of 8 channels available for use. This means you can have 1 ISDN30 circuit with 8 live channels, as apposed to 4 ISDN2 circuits that each provide 2 channels.

If your existing telephone network service is still analogue and you want to stick with it, the KXTD816 can be configured to accept up to a maximum of 8 exchange lines to provide incoming and outgoing service for the system users.

The KXTD816 come initially configured for 16 extensions (8 digital and 8 analogue). You can expand on this by connecting an 8 port extension module to the system which doubles the number of digital and analogue devices available. Doing this takes the KXTD816 up to its maximum of 32 extensions.

DECT technology is becoming ever more popular for business use and the KXTD816 provides this facility as an additional option. By connecting a DECT module to the system you could have up to 16 cordless extensions which are served by base station units, positioned within your building to provide the correct coverage for your requirements.

Like the KXTD612, external music on hold, external paging and building door phone connectivity is a standard option.

Platform 3:

KXTD1232E Digital Super Hybrid System - Up to 128 Extensions

The KXTD 1232E is the largest platform in the KXTD range. It has all the same features and add on modules available to it as the KXTD816E but on a far grander scale. As with the KXTD816, the 1232 offers the same gradual expansion, but the scope for this is greater.

The system comes initially configured for 32 extensions (16 digital and 16 analogue) and can be expanded ultimately to 128 extensions (64 digital and 64 analogue).

Due to the size of company the KXTD1232 attracts, ISDN30 becomes far more of a likely requirement. If you do opt for connecting ISDN30 onto the system, you can now have up to 30 channels for your incoming and outgoing service, and again, full DDI functionality is available via the network provider.

This greater scope for expansion is because with the KXTD1232, you can connect 2 of the main control units together. This means the KXTD1232 can cater for larger companies from day one or provide a painless option for expansion to the smaller organisation as it begins to outgrow its original 1 box system requirements.

As with the KXTD816, the 1232 provides an RS232 port for the connection of an external call logging system. These systems can collect call traffic records from the KXTD platform, and then build reports to show incoming and outgoing call information on lines and extension users. This can be very useful information for budgeting purposes as companies start to expand.

For voice mail services, both the KXTD816 and 1232 are well catered for by the Panasonic Voice Processing systems. These VP Systems come in 3 sizes and integrate perfectly with the KXTD range. They provide both voice mail to all system users and full auto attendant facilities if you require the VP system to answer your incoming calls and automatically route callers to their required destinations.
