Panasonic have been supplying high quality and keenly priced business telephone systems to the communications market for many years now. It is a fact that Panasonic sell more business telephone systems in the UK than any other manufacturer.
Many of the original Panasonic systems are still out there and doing a good job for the companies that use them. Key systems have always been the most popular choice with smaller businesses and Panasonic have always been one of the market leaders for this type of product.
The KXT206E is the baby of the Panasonic system range and is designed purely as an analogue platform for a small company or even for residential use, maybe if you're working from home.
This system can accommodate a maximum of 2 exchange lines and provides up to 6 telephone extensions which can be a mixture of key phones as shown in the picture below, or basic style telephones the same as the ones you may use at home already.
Instead of basic style telephones, you could connect a fax machine and your PC's modem so you can access the internet through the system's exchange lines. You could also connect an answer phone to take calls when you are on another call or if it's after your companies working hours.

The KXT206 has the option for you to connect a door phone to it so that when visitors arrive they can press a button outside your door and ring a selection of your extension phones. If you have an electronic lock fitted you can also let them in via the telephone keypad.
One useful optional piece of equipment that you can connect to the KXT206 is the DISA card.
This card when fitted can be set to answer an incoming call automatically and allow the caller to key in the extension number of the person he or she wishes to speak to.
A second useful addition is the fax detection card. This card can detect fax tones from remote fax machines, so if you only have one telephone line, you could advertise it as both your main number and your fax number. When a call comes into the system the fax detection card can decide whether to give it to the fax machine or your phones.

The KXTA624E is a purely analogue telephone system aimed at the small business market. If you are happy to keep any ISDN requirements that you may have as stand alone options, then the KXTA624 can be an extremely effective and keenly priced piece of equipment.

To help you budget and keep the price of the system as low as possible, the KXTA624 is initially configured to provide you with 8 extensions and allows the connection of 3 exchange lines. The 8 extensions can be a mixture of system key phones or basic style telephones like the ones you may have at home, i.e. cordless.
There are 2 optional cards that you can buy to expand the initial system configuration. The first provides another 8 extensions and allows for 3 more exchange lines, and the second provides 8 more extensions, but this last 8 will only support the basic type phones and not the key variety.
Basic type telephones can also stand for fax machines, modems, cordless phones and answer machines, if your company has the need for such equipment.
Up to 4 door phone units with door opener relays are available on the system if required. This means that visitors to your building can press a button on a door phone box and generate a call on selected telephones on the KXTA624 system to announce their arrival. By pressing a number on the phone keypad, you can then chose to open the door from your desk providing your doors have been fitted with electronic locks.
An external music on hold source (i.e. CD player) can be connected to the KXTA624 to provide music to your customers while they're call is on hold plus an amplifier and speakers can be attached to the system if there is a requirement for paging announcements, into an area of your company such as a waiting room or a stores type environment.
Another optional card that can be very useful is the OGM/Fax detection card. This card can be used to answer incoming calls to the system automatically, and play a message to the caller instructing them how to dial directly through to the extension of the person they wish to speak to. This can cut out the need for an operator position or be used as an additional aid to one. If a fax call should be answered by this card, the card will send the call directly to your company fax machine as long as it is connected to an extension on the system.
The KXTA624 system provides an RS232 port for the connection of an external call logging system. These systems can collect call traffic records from the KXTA platform, and then build reports to show incoming and outgoing call information on lines and extension users. This can be very useful information for budgeting purposes as companies start to expand.
For voice mail services, the KXTA624 is well catered for by the Panasonic Voice Processing systems. These VP Systems come in 3 sizes and integrate perfectly with the KXTA system. They provide both voice mail to all system users and full auto attendant facilities if you require the VP system to answer your incoming calls and automatically route callers to their required destinations.
